Ein heißer Tag im Spätsommer 2012. Die Luft flimmert nachgerade tropisch über dem Allacher Asphalt; heute muss sich Deutschland in Sachen Schweißtrieb nicht hinter Indien verstecken. Könnte es einen geeigneteren Tag geben, um sich der Aufnahme indischer Ragas hinzugeben?
Wobei Roberto und ich ehrlich gesagt nur rudimentäre Kenntnisse über Aufbau und Binnenstruktur der klassischen indischen Musik besitzen. Macht nichts, wer kennt sich schon mit irgendetwas so richtig aus; bekanntlich zählt der gute Wille, und besserwilligere Zeitgenossen als Roberto und mich wird man kaum finden - egal, worum’s geht.
Ausgerechnet heute hat sich Tim Ries in Allach angekündigt, ein alter Kumpel Robertos, Jazzmusiker aus New York City.
Die Wartezeit auf den langjährigen Saxofonisten der Rolling Stones verkürzen wir uns, indem wir schon mal eine Bambusflötenmedition auf Festplatte pusten und Tablas, für deren kurzfristigen Erwerb uns der Tag zu schwül ist, durch fingerbeklopfte Zigarrenkisten ersetzen.
